And when it\u2019s a new place or a new job it becomes much more difficult.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Check out these tips on how to convert strangers to friends:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\"><li><strong>Be Open<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Just go ahead and say \u201cHi\u201d as a conversation starter. You will be surprised to know that people are more welcoming than we generally expect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Don\u2019t bother about the outcome<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>When you don\u2019t expect any outcome, you won\u2019t be disappointed or offended if someone doesn\u2019t respond to you. Do your thing, and don\u2019t worry about whether you get a response or not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Be tolerant<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If they reject you, it isn\u2019t about you. It\u2019s about their preference, so don\u2019t take it personally. If they passed up on the opportunity to connect with you, that\u2019s their loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Just do it<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the best ways to combat the fear is to do it repeatedly. Push through the fear and it will start to feel more natural.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Keep practicing<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Don\u2019t concern yourself if you seem a little awkward or even aggressive. If your intentions are authentic, you will come across that way, the more you try.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Talk about them<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The best way to keep someone interested in a conversation is to show an interest in what they do. Everybody likes to talk about themselves. Even if you don\u2019t know a about a particular subject, keep asking questions to understand them more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Humor them<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Laughter makes the exchange fun and joyful. People enjoy talking with others who make them laugh. So switch on your humor sense and don\u2019t take anything too seriously\u2014just have fun with it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Keep smiling<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If nothing else works, just smile!
